The Department of Public Safety participates in Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon, along with all other law enforcement agencies in Jackson and Josephine Counties.
Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization that is underwritten by Sonitrol of Southern Oregon. People with helpful information on crimes can call 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328). Callers with information on criminal activity can receive up to $1,000 in cash. Callers are given a "file number," and their names are kept confidential.
The Crime Stoppers segment highlighting local and/or regional crimes appears on KTVL Channel 10 on Tuesday evenings at 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Crime Stoppers is also featured weekly in the Mail Tribune.
