The City has budgeted for upgrading this facility to become the main office of the Public Safety Department.
The total funds available for this project are $4.5 million. All design, construction and incidental costs must be included within this fixed budget.
The N.E. 7th Street Station will be classified as an "essential facility" under the Oregon Structural Specialty Code.
AnswerWe will not be keeping all of the existing equipment. It will be necessary to leave some equipment (mostly related to 911) at our current location. We will be looking at purchasing new consoles. We do anticipate there will be a microwave dish installation as well. There may be further moving to support the renovation that we are currently unaware of.
