CDBG Weatherization/Rehabilitation Program
The City of Grants Pass, through its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), began its new Weatherization/Rehabilitation program in October 2022, offering low-income homeowners residing within the city an opportunity to apply for CDBG grants to help them with accessibility, weatherization repairs, or rehabilitation of their homes.
The CDBG program allocates funds each year for these types of projects based on the annual award the city receives from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development agency. The funds are limited, applications must meet the income level, and not all repairs are eligible. An attachment below is provided with the application to show the weatherization and rehabilitation activities available.
For Program Year 2022, applications were accepted from August 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022. After the open period, applications were reviewed, and applicants were selected based on their income level. The city received 70+ applications and worked to process as many homes as possible with the limited CDBG funds on hand. The city is near completing these homes for the program year. While we were not able to reach all the applicants, a new open period to apply for the new program year begins this September 1, 2023. The new CDBG program year will start October 1, 2023 at which time the applications received will be reviewed. We encourage you to apply again during the open period. Notice will be on the webpage before that time. The earlier you apply, the closer you are to the top of the waiting list. For those applications received in October 2022 and which did not receive repairs, you MUST reapply for the new program year. A new waiting list will be compiled for the new program year.
Application packets will be distributed around the city and will be provided at the Community Development Department located at 101 NW A Street, Suite 202 beginning September 1, 2023. Application materials can also be accessed via the link below.
