COMMENTS A small tree native to the United States, this tree has strong heat and drought tolerance. Often grows with multiple stems, so select a single-stemmed specimen for the public right-of-way. Moderate growth rate. Requires well drained soils or verticillium wilt is likely to occur. This tree may be difficult to find in the nursery trade as its popularity along streets is just beginning. A good tree to select for harshly warm industrial and commercial sites. Features: flowers, fall color, unique bark . Full sun.
