COMMENTS Deciduous conifer. Medium growth rate (13-24" per year). Feathery foliage turns orange/cinnamon in fall. A great street tree. This tree is iconic for the "knees" it develops in its native swamp forestlands in the southeast. These trees are also excellent for dry urban soils. Any soils will do, except for those with high pH. Select a cultivar that is not of the weeping form. Arbor Day Foundation: "The baldcypress grows in acidic, loamy, moist, sandy, silty loam, well-drained and clay soils. It is adaptable to wet or dry conditions and can withstand flooding." Features: deciduous conifer, fall color. Full sun. Wet soil tolerant. 'Mickelson' cultivar is more narrow. Other cultivars subject to approval from Urban Forester
