COMMENTS Yellow fall color and interesting rough corky bark with age. Fast growing and adaptable to poor soil conditions. This tree is a workhorse in urban environments and appears to handle horrible soil conditions quite well. Roots can be aggressive, so this tree should not be planted in spaces less than 6' wide. Try to source the cultivar 'Magnifica' as it is faster growing and has more resistance to pests. Very popular with birds and butterflies. Drought and Heat tolerant once established. Features: wildlife, fall color, unique bark. Full sun. Wet soil tolerant.
