COMMENTS A slow growing deciduous oak, but well known in the English countryside for is beauty. This tree can handle a wide range of pH soils. In the U.S., this species can be quite susceptible to powdery mildew and leafspot. Because we have many other species of oak to choose from for large canopies, the columnar cultivar is only approved in order to accommodate options for rights-of-way with limited lateral space. Other columnar English Oaks are hybrids, which can be found in this list as "Quecurs x warei" and "Quercus robur x Q. alba 'Crimschmidt'" Features: wildlife, narrow canopy. Full sun.
