A fast growing oak that is a great selection for wet habitats such as wetlands. This species can tolerate drought as well. Missouri Botanical Garden: "These acorns are sweet-tasting and can be eaten directly from the tree (acorns on most oaks need to be boiled first to remove tannic acid)." Features: wildlife. Full sun (preferred) to partial shade (withstand). Wet soil tolerant. |
