Engineering Division
The Engineering Division assists in the orderly development of our community by ensuring that private and public development comply with adopted facility plans and development standards. Our motto is: "Quality Engineering Today For A Reliable Tomorrow."
Services Provided
- Collect, manage, and distribute "as-built" plans for most public improvements
- Design and field inspection of public improvements and capital projects
- Design and plan check reviews
- Design and provide standard drawings and specifications for infrastructure improvements
- Participate in site plan reviews
- Prepare requests for proposals for public project installation
- Provide information to the development community regarding existing and future public facilities

The Engineering Division works with other city departments in providing information from over 7,000 plans and as-built drawings through a Geographic Information System (GIS). Some of the information available through the GIS program include:
- Aerial photos
- Availability of water, sewer, and storm drain facilities
- Floodway and floodplain information
- Hard and electronic maps and files of topographic features
- Relative property locations
- Water, sewer, storm drain, and transportation master plans
