Operations Bureau

The Operations Bureau is commanded by Captain Tyler Lee, with the direct supervision of one Lieutenant and two 911 Managers.

The Captain supervises the hiring and training of police officers within the department. We only hire the most qualified men and women for these positions. Training is provided by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) to begin an officer’s career. We also provide in house training for specialized areas. We emphasize customer service and professionalism.

The Police Operations Bureau of the Grants Pass Police Department strives to provide a safe environment for our community through delivery of professional police services. To accomplish this task, we utilize:

Selection

We start by only selecting the best qualified men and women. We believe our in-service training is exceptional and continue to train our men and women year after year by using the latest techniques and lessons that law enforcement has to offer. We spend a great deal of time researching our equipment before making purchases and believe that we have equipment that is fiscally responsible and cutting edge. Combining our highly trained and skilled police officers, their on-going training, and the technology available to them, allows us to be very successful at policing our city in the most efficient manner possible.
