Budget Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Budget Committee is to receive and review the recommended budget and approve a budget for Council's consideration.

Members

Eight City Councilors and 8 lay members are appointed to the Budget Committee for a term of 3 years.

The lay members must be freeholders and electors of the City. Although traditionally appointed by ward, this is not necessary. The city seeks diversity of philosophy and representation of divergent views of the committee.

The lay members are appointed by City Council as mandated by Oregon Revised Statutes 294.

Special qualification: One position is for a representative from local historical societies in Grants Pass, and one position is a representative who is the owner of a business located within the Central Business District of the City of Grants Pass. Fill out and submit online by November 4, 2022

    Apply for Sustainability and Energy Action Taskforce - Applications are being accepted for one position. Special qualification: A Grants Pass High School Student. Fill out and submit online by October 7, 2022

Special qualification: This position is for a representative who is either an owner of a property located within the Historic District, the owner of a property located within a Conservation District, or the owner of a Historic Landmark as defined by Section 13.312 of the Development Code and Designated under Section 13.420 of the Development Code. Fill out and submit online by October 7, 2022

    Apply for Urban Tree Advisory Committee - Applications are being accepted for four positions. Special qualification: Interest in promotion and enhancement of the urban forest.  Fill out and submit online by October 5, 2022.
