We are looking to hire a Dispatcher for our Department of Public Safety. The City seeks a positive role model who is ethical, supportive to Council Goals, innovative, is receptive to ideas and opinions, and focuses on the betterment of the individual, organization, and community.
Successful applicants will have strong keyboarding skills, outstanding interpersonal and judgment skills and the ability to multi-task during intense situations and high volume work loads. Incumbents are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and directing appropriate and timely resources. Responsibilities include prioritizing calls, tracking unit status, and dispatching emergency personnel to crime scenes and calls for service.
Our Public Safety Department is a 24-7 operation and all candidates will be required to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts and holidays.
After an initial review of the application materials, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to complete Criticall testing on site between the dates of August 13 and August 16. Candidates who are successful with the Criticall testing will be required to attend a 2-hour job observation in our dispatch center prior to the oral interview on August 23, 2018.
