The City of Grants Pass has embarked on a new era of infrastructure renewal. The City of Grants Pass has, through their strategic planning process, confirmed that constructing a replacement Water Treatment Plant is their number one priority. The Water Treatment Plant Superintendent leads the Treatment division under the general supervision of the Public Works Director. It exercises full supervision of employees in the division as well as seasonal full time temporary staff. The position manages the operation and maintenance of a 20 MGD conventional surface water treatment plant, 13 remote booster pump stations and 8 reservoir sites. The superintendent is also responsible for the Treatment Plants' water quality laboratory utilized for quality control and compliance analysis. The Superintendent assumes fiscal responsibility by participating in the preparation and administration of an operating budget as well as planning City-wide projects relating to the water division. The superintendent will be a key member involved in the planning and replacement of the City's current Treatment Plant. The new treatment plant is scheduled to be online by late 2023.
