[ARCHIVED] City Seeks Public Input on UGB Rezoning

GRANTS PASS - The City of Grants Pass has initiated a process to rezone approximately 600 acres of rural, county-zoned properties to city urban zoning districts that implement the city’s adopted Comprehensive Plan districts for those properties. These areas are currently within the city’s Urban Growth Boundary (UGB), but outside of city limits. This is a much-anticipated step in achieving the community’s goal to expand the city’s buildable land inventory.

The city has posted an online survey regarding the re-zone project. The survey provides an opportunity to introduce the rezone application process and receive input from the community on factors the city should consider when assigning city zoning districts.

The survey is available here: https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/1354/UGB-Rezoning-Project

“We hope to reach as many property owners and neighbors as possible to provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas. The UGB Rezone Application process is a key implementation mechanism of our Comprehensive Plan,” said Principal Planner Bradley Clark.

The UGB Rezone Application will help further the goals and policies adopted in the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan includes employment, commercial, and residential districts for these various properties, including residential development at low, moderate, and high densities. City zone districts will support coordinated, urban-level development, particularly needed residential development.

More details about this event and other opportunities to participate will be announced as they approach. For more information, contact Clark at (541)450-6061, or email: BClark@grantspassoregon.gov.
