GRANTS PASS – State-mandated social distancing restrictions have temporarily changed the process for conducting required public hearings in order to move forward with city business. All cities and counties in the state of Oregon are still required to accept and process building, subdivision, and other land development applications and permits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The social distancing mandates pose a challenge to how we hold public hearings and receive public feedback on these applications,” said Grants Pass Principal Planner Bradley Clark.
The City of Grants Pass is conducting virtual meetings until state orders are lifted. All city public hearings are recorded and posted to the city’s website. Public hearing will be given a two-week continuation period in order to allow interested parties to provide public comments with regards to the hearings. Each posted public hearing continuation period also includes the contact information for the city staff member responsible for receiving public comments.
Information about city meetings and public hearings can be accessed directly from the Agenda Center of the city’s website: https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/AgendaCenter.
Those who wish to receive automatic email notifications regarding city business can sign up for various notices at: https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/list.aspx. The site allows registrants to select which notices they wish to receive, from information regarding land use hearings and city council meetings, to bid postings and city news releases.
