GRANTS PASS – The City of Grants Pass will conduct a community forum 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, to discuss major economic development issues such as business reopening under state guidelines, tourism and promotions, special events, and downtown operations within the city’s Central Business District.
The forum will be hosted at City Hall with a townhall atmosphere, but due to state-mandated social distancing requirements, physical attendance will be limited to 29 people divided into two rooms. All others will have the opportunity to attend the virtual portion of the forum by phoning into the meeting.
“In the interest of ensuring that all interested parties have the ability to participate in our scheduled meeting to discuss updates regarding economic development issues, city staff has been working diligently to create a meeting platform that will remain within proper Phase One social distancing guidelines, while also providing opportunity for as many participants as possible,” said Director of Parks and Community Development Lora Glover.
Glover and City Manager Aaron Cubic will facilitate the meeting along with other city staff members to help ensure adherence to social distancing guidelines, and to allow for comments and questions from those in attendance both physically and virtually.
“The goal is to create a townhall atmosphere that will provide all interested parties with ample opportunity to participate in this very important discussion,” said Glover.
Those wishing to attend the forum in person must secure a reservation by contacting Business Advocate Susan Seereiter: sseereiter@grantspassoregon.gov. Questions and comments may also be sent to Seereiter in advance of the meeting. Call-in information is available at the city’s website: https://www.grantspassoregon.gov/Calendar.aspx?EID=2484.
The forum will not be televised, but callers can listen in and participate in the full meeting by using the call-in information.
