[ARCHIVED] City Spray Park to Close Oct. 1

Riverside Spray Park in Action

GRANTS PASS – With late September temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees next week, the City of Grants Pass Spray Park at Riverside Park will remain open until Oct. 1. It will then close for the season and begin the processes of winterization.

The popular water feature experienced a shorten season this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, but city staff was able to research proper sanitizing measures to get the Spray Park open without causing any adverse effects to the Rogue River where park runoff occurs.

The park is free to the public and will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Oct. 1. It is closed during inclement weather.

The park first opened Aug. 27, 2019 slightly ahead of schedule, to allow kids to enjoy the park as the summer season came to an end. The City received a $40,000 grant from the Rotary Club’s Duck Derby that helped finance the original project.
