We are seeking lateral Police Officer candidates to join our Public Safety Department.
Police Officers work rotating shifts, including days, nights and weekends. High call volume and a fast-paced environment are to be expected. Police Officers work both independently and cooperatively to provide pro-active police protection and crime prevention consistent with community policing objectives. Incumbents ensure the safety of the community in an orderly, efficient, and professional manner, and conduct investigations of crimes which lead to identification, apprehension, and prosecution of criminals.
Minimum Job Requirements: Lateral Officers must be either Oregon DPSST certified, or certified in another state with reciprocity. To qualify as a Lateral, the required experience must be as a sworn, full-time officer with a municipal, county or state law enforcement agency, excluding time spent in the police academy.
Hiring Incentives: Relocation Allowance: Up to $1500 if required to move to meet residency requirements. Signing Bonus: $1,000 at the time of hire for a Lateral Officer with 5 years or more as a sworn, full-time Police Officer. Step at hire and accrual lump sums: Based on years worked as a sworn, full-time Police Officer.
