GRANTS PASS – Experience Grants Pass, the new 501(c)6 not-for-profit destination marketing organization (DMO) establishing in Grants Pass is seeking new board members to lead the development, sustainability, and growth of the visitor economy in Grants Pass and Josephine County.
These individuals will lead in the formation of the new DMO, including the hiring of an executive director who will facilitate the sales and marketing efforts of the tourism economy. The board of directors will also be responsible for providing the proper strategic direction for the organization, as well as creating a vision for ongoing destination and organization success.
Board members will work with the executive director as motivators and leaders of both the region’s visitor industry and the professional staﬀ dedicated to marketing and servicing the hospitality industry and its assets. The mission of the organization shall be to increase and lengthen overnight visitor stay from 50 miles away or farther.
As the DMO for the destination, its goal will be to guide the executive director in outreach marketing, destination development, visitor research, education, and media relations.
Board applicants must be 18 years of age or older and either a resident of Josephine County or affiliated with a business located in Josephine County representing lodging establishments, restaurants, local retail stores, tourism attractions, arts and culture, or outdoor recreation businesses.
Selected board members will be volunteers serving three-year terms. Members of the board of directors will be expected to attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
