Applications are being accepted for two positions on the Housing Advisory Committee (HAC) due to expiring terms. These are three-year appointments.
The HAC explores opportunities to facilitate the provision of housing for all income levels, and it makes recommendations to the City Council. It also promotes public awareness of housing resources and promotes public participation in identifying and addressing housing issues and needs. The City Council may authorize HAC to conduct those public hearings specified in the City’s CDBG citizen participation plan, which are not reserved to the City Council for decision-making.
The special qualifications for these positions:
- One representative from an organization that develops and/or operates housing, transitional housing, short-term housing, or shelter for special needs (e.g., Options, OnTrack, Kairos, Women’s Crisis Support Team, Hearts With A Mission, Gospel Rescue Mission, etc.)
- One representative who is a residential developer.
Applications are available at the City Administration Office, 101 N.W. A St., or online. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023. Applications will be reviewed by the committee Friday, August 18, 2023. Appointments will be made by the council at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
