Looking to beautify your front yard with cooling shade, beautiful flowers, or fall colors? The City’s annual Tree Canopy Program is going on now. For $50, the City will plant a tree in your front yard.

We have five species to choose from and they are going fast. For small trees, we have Prariefire Crabapple, Eastern Redbud and Japanese Tree Lilac. For larger trees, there is nothing better than having a Greenspire Linden or Colonial Spirit® Elm to take your landscaping to the next level. Trees increase property value, intercept stormwater, reduce energy demands, cool temperatures, promote healthier living, and so much more.

The deadline to apply is October 13, but tree species are assigned to applicants on a “first come, first served” basis. Apply quickly! You can pick up an application from the Community Development Department at City Hall or download a copy.
