A loo for you to use is now open in the Osprey Parking Lot at the intersection of 5th and H Streets. Another Portland Loo will be installed in the Beaver Parking Lot in the coming months.
Each loo has a trash can, sharps container, and a recessed hand wash station outside, complete with an air hand dryer. The restrooms are made with graffiti-resistant stainless steel and are plumbed with a small water heater to provide tepid water for hand washing.
On November 9, 2020, staff reported to City Council that porta potties were costing more to operate than permanent facilities. Council gave direction to decrease the number of porta potties and look for long-term solutions. Staff later came back to Council with three versions of public restrooms, and the Council chose the Portland Loo.
